Through the analysis of "Hakone Osekisyo Nikki Kakinuki", (produced during the Edo Period) revealed details of the interior of Hakone Sekisho. During the restoration a number of furnishings and arms were recreated. Mannequins were placed inside the Hakone Sekisho to provide visitors with a picture of life at Hakone Sekisho during its heyday.
